What you will be doing?

This person will work in a production support role for existing products within a fast paced manufacturing/assembly facility. This position will require generous time spent working on the manufacturing floor to understand and keep current on the products made at the facility. 

• Direct and improve products at the product design level. 
• Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design; troubleshoot product design related manufacturing and product functionality problems and direct corrective actions. 
• Investigate, research, and collect information for new and ongoing projects related to the product support role for the overall improvement of the products manufactured at the facility 
• Design product modifications and/or develop process improvements as needed to meet standards, or for the purpose of product quality improvement. 
• Develop, implement, and maintain the manufacturing processes, the QC test methods, and the related documentation required to manufacture every product within its specifications, schedule, and budget. 
• Perform documentation activities that include functional testing of products to ensure that customer specifications are met. 
• Review PPAP inspection reports and provide disposition for Product Engineering. 
• Coordinate product testing with the internal test lab manager. 
• Participate in warranty return activities and direct corrective actions for product design related concerns.
• Interface with Purchasing, Manufacturing and other internal departments to determine solutions to problems with existing product lines.
• Ongoing verification for existing product documentation for current products.
• Other engineering related duties as assigned by department manager. 

What do you need to be successful in this position?

• Bachelor’ s Degree in Engineering (BSME) required; equivalent working experience may be considered. 
• 5+ years’ work experience in a product manufacturing/assembly environment. 
• 3+ years’ experience with SolidWorks or other related 3D Modeling programs required.
• Experience AS400 or similar environment is a plus.
• Working knowledge of multiple level BOMs in multi-component products.
• Working knowledge of marking up existing drawings, BOMs, and item master information for purposes of making changes to the same.
• Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
