Newly created role at the divisional level to help facilitate and drive automation and process  improvement projects across 4 facilities, located in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Arkansas. 

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations this position will lead efforts to transition from manual or semi-automated processes to automated processes and smart factory manufacturing. The position will directly manage the Roadmap for " Industry 4.0" across all operations and execute projects to achieve the contained strategy. This position will be a blended role working with the local and divisional project teams and engineering resources as well as project consultants and contractors to manage the project aspects of the solutions and build new automated data collection abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transition manually intensive and error prone processes into automated equipment.
  • Optimize existing automated and partially automated processes to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost.
  • Management of project activities in accordance with project schedule and budget.
  • Build partnerships with key equipment vendors and service providers.
  • Seek and qualify novel technologies, and if appropriate, validate and integrate to manufacturing sites/production processes.
  • Facilitate design /specification, purchase, installation and qualification of process equipment.
  • Design and carry out validation plans for both new equipment and for process changes on existing instrumentation.
  • Prepare clear and succinct technical reports and presentations to facilitate adoption/leverage of methods and technologies across operational sites.
  • Coordinate and support training for users of equipment.
  • Adhere to EH&S standards,
  • Provide leadership, drive change, and execute on the company’ s mission and core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally to support automation needs for all locations

Requirements for Role:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role, driving automation and automated improvement projects  across various aspects of the manufacturing process.  Must be able to:
  • Written Specifications and requirements for RFQs
  • Complete Capital Expense Requests
  • Strong knowledge base of PLC/HMI/DSC platforms such as WonderWare System Platform and Archestra Graphics. Siemens, Allen-Bradley

Should be able to maintain a high degree of attention to detail.  Must be an energetic individual that gets energized by accomplishments and excellence in the workplace.  Passion for technology and automated processes.  Must be organized, work well independently and in a team setting.  Capable to lead a core group of professionals and capable of synthesizing information from multiple sources to reach a meaningful conclusion.
