Senior Manufacturing engineer

 

Are you a you a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer who is proficient with Solidworks as well as a strong background in CNC programming? If so, my client located in Jefferson, WI is looking to add Senior Manufacturing Engineer to their team.

What you will be doing?

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and validating manufacturing processes that focus on safety and bring value in accordance with requirements of the company.
  • Responsible for working with fellow departments, production, and setup personnel, as well as giving peer review to fellow engineering department members.
  • Critical metrics for the Manufacturing Engineering include successful task completion ratio, time estimation accuracy, and the overall safety and value of processes generated by performing the following duties.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to resolve production issues. Develops safety focused manufacturing processes and promote safe working habits
  • Manages process routings and bills of material to ensure proper materials and material quantities are included and available for purchasing department.
  • Determines (when undented) and enter required product characteristics, such as product identifiers, key product characteristics, and specifications.
  • Controls plans and gaging requirements as required. Participates in FMEA activities, and complete required PPAP documentation when requested.
  • Handles appropriate tooling and work holding, or provide design direction of tooling and work holding.
  • Plans, organizes, and formulates programs for modern digital machine tools with appropriate speeds and feeds for the materials to be machined.
  • Observes machine prove-out, collect and record feedback, and offer guidance to setup and production staff.
  • Communicates complex processing ideas by using detailed documentation, models, prints, graphics, or video.

What do you need to be successful in this position?

  • Associates Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Proficient with Solidworks, Mastercam and some CNC programming experience required
  • Exhibit proficiency with SPC, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, and ISO 9001-2015.
  • Experience with machines such as Mazak or Fanuc desired.
  • Previous machining and set-up experience is strongly desired. 
  • Strong team and communication skills required, including displayed proficiency in utilizing standard office based applications and email. 
  • Understanding of key manufacturing concepts such as lean manufacturing, GD&T, tooling selection and speed, and feed determination.
  • Working Knowledge of Root Cause / Corrective Action Analysis, ISO Standards etc.
