Midwest Regional Sales Manager


Overall responsible for managing the full life cycle of the sales process generating sales with new and existing customers within a designated region to meet sales goals and to facilitate business unit growth for company products in the fleet & commercial segment. Assigned region consist of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakota’s.


  • Participate in the development of strategic and tactical plans to meet or exceed sales goals by calling on and building relationships with pickup truck fleets. Additionally, work with fleet customer associated body up-fitters, OEM’s and fleet management companies as required to maximize orders and trouble free order-to-delivery for the fleet customer.
  • Formulate accurate and complete project specific customer information; ranging from regular site visits, plan reviews and in depth customer discussions.
  • Specking and costing out company products in the fleet and commercial segment.  Quote products and prices under existing company guidelines with the help of Director- Fleet Sales, Fleet Service Coordinator, and each plant Controller. Follow-up on all open quotations to secure orders and close sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a close partnership with customers (both internally and externally) with proven relationship management, account / business development skills and negotiation tactics to maintain effective relationships.
  • Relay information to appropriate company personnel concerning possible field product problems and offers methodologies to be able to counteract with solutions.  Warranty investigation, damage control and contribution to resolution.
  • Sales to engineering liaison.  Insuring customer’s expectations are crystal clear to engineering and manufacturing from quote to process through build.
  • Possess superior knowledge and understanding of all assigned fleet and commercial products, competitor products, market and industry.
  • Represents organization at industry trade shows, conferences and meetings as needed.
  • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the corporate office, business unit where appropriate.
  • Appropriately use Salesforce to record customer visits with strategic insight.



Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred with significant overall sales experience or direct relationships with commercial fleet companies in one or more of the following industries:  fleet management companies, commercial pickup truck body and aftermarket up-fitters, OEM, light duty fleet vehicle applications, service bodies, fiberglass & molded products.  Attributes for a successful candidate include:

  • Aggressive “Hunter mentality” with significant customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective Presentation Skills.  Working knowledge of MS Business Software.
  • Work will require regular travel (up to 60%) and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.  Ability to multitask, effective time management skills and a basis for action.
