Civil Engineer Project Manager

Are you’ re a Civil Engineer with Wastewater Project Management experience?

Do you have experience designing Wastewater Treatment Plants, BioFilters, or Pump Stations?

What you need for this Civil Engineer Project Manager role:
  • BS Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer’ s License in Michigan or ability to be licensed
  • 10+ years’ experience in wastewater treatment and process engineering.
  • Biological modeling, IPP, MAHL.
  • Client Management and Business Development.

What you will be doing as a Civil Engineer Project Manager:
  • Work in the Grand Rapids office, lab and at client sites.
  • Coordinate each aspect of an engineering project, ensuring that all persons involved in the project provide high-quality services.
  • Assume control of work-in-process, including client billings, monitoring outstanding accounts receivable and coordinating the timely completion of projects.
  • Mentor less experienced staff; motivate and encourage staff career development.
  • Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff.
  • Complete detail designs resulting in project plans and specifications.
  • Prepare proposals.
  • Attend client meetings; provide engineering input at public meetings.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, aerial photographs, system hydraulics, biological processes, and other data to plan and design projects.
  • Evaluate and prepare detail designs for water and waste water treatment and treatment facilities.
  • Direct CADD Operators/ GIS Technicians to convert designs to working drawings
  • Visit construction site regularly to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Conduct feasibility and reliability studies for the preparation of project cost estimates.

Preferred Civil Engineer Project Manager skills:
  • Master’ s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer’ s License
  • 15+ years’ experience in wastewater treatment and process engineering
  • Ability to apply HEC-RAS, SWMM, and Cybernet as tools.
