National Sales Director, Fleet and Commercial Sales

Leading provider of automotive aftermarket products and accessories is looking for a National Sales Director for Fleet and Commercial customers.  This high profile sales role, reporting to the VP of Sales, will lead a team of professionals in the sales / business development activities for new and current fleet and commercial customers to meet designated goals and to facilitate business unit growth.

This role is a home based position and can be located anywhere in the United States!   

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for creating an effective sales and marketing plan to sell all applicable commodity products for a leading aftermarket truck manufacturer in the fleet and commercial segments. 
  • Responsible for developing strategic and tactical plans to meet or exceed sales goals by calling on and building relationships with pickup truck body up-fitters, OEM’s and fleet management companies in the commercial pickup truck and aftermarket industries.
  • Build solid business plans based on analysis of key performance metrics and understanding of market place issues / opportunities. 
  • Hunter mentality is required in order to grow and expand customer base.
  • Directly manage major developing client accounts, and coordinate the management for all other accounts.
  • Formulate accurate and complete project specific customer information; ranging from regular site visits, plan reviews and in depth customer discussions.
  • Specification and costing of products in the fleet and commercial segment.  Quote products and prices under existing company guidelines with the help of each division controller.  Follow-up on all open quotations to secure orders and close sales with the fleet sales team or directly.
  • Prepare annual and monthly forecasts for products segments. Complete and turn in sales-related paperwork timely. 
  • Relay information to appropriate company personnel concerning possible field product problems and offers methodologies to be able to counteract with solutions.
  • Compiles or generates oral and written reports and information required by the V.P. of Sales (or) President on a variety of topics, such as: new customer needs current issues or concerns, new customer interest, other competition, etc.\
  • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the business unit and corporate office where appropriate.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) required along with 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior level sales, marketing or business development position.
  • Significant overall sales experience in one or more of the following industries:  fleet management companies, commercial pickup truck body and aftermarket up-fitters, OEM, light duty fleet vehicle applications, service bodies, fiberglass & molded products. 
  • Travel is required up to 60%.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very sharp, innovative and accustomed to “figuring it out”.
  • Experienced with complex environments – multi-state, large employee base with unique demands.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence others to obtain objectives.
