Medical Biller – Mishawaka

We have been asked by our client to help them locate a Medical Biller for a contract role that has the possibility of becoming permanent.   The Biller is responsible for ensuring that all claims are timely and accurately submitted, either electronically or via paper. 

What will you be doing?

  • Reviews all assigned claims and helps facilitate corrections to billing edits.
  • Ensures claim information is correct; including revenue codes, CPT codes, physician information, and charges prior to submitting claim.
  • Knows how to identify and correct negative revenue.
  • Identifies and combines accounts requiring combining.
  • Ensures that all secondary claims are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Makes appropriate and timely notes in the billing system regarding claim submission and status of claim
  • Works Medicare accept/reject report
  • Notifies Business Office Director timely with any issues that cannot be resolved by biller.
  • Assists, from time to time, with other billing and collection duties/tasks as assigned by Business Office Director
  • Seeks guidance, remains knowledgeable and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws, as well as hospital polices that apply to assigned duties.
  • Complies with hospital expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct.
  • Complies with federal and hospital requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.

What will you need?

  • 3+ years of Medical Billing experience. Prior experience as a biller in a hospital business office setting, preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Athena software highly preferred
  • Strong Computer Skills
