Insurance Customer Service Rep – Onalaska, WI

The CSR answers customer’ s calls or correspondence regarding the insurance company’ s products. The questions may involve new policies and cost or existing customer policies. The role of the customer service representative is to see that the customer’ s problems are resolved satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete applications in coordination with Agent, Account Executive or Account Manager (s); submit applications to eligible and appropriate carriers.
  • Prepare proposals and renewal summaries.
  • Maintain agency management system with up-to-date and accurate data.
  • Answer incoming calls, greet and direct agency visitors.
  • Respond to customer inquiries.
  • Handle processing and suspense of new business, renewals, cancellations, and endorsement requests
  • Prepare certificates, binders, surety bonds and general correspondence.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current licensure or ability to obtain a Property & Casualty Resident Intermediary granted by the State of Wisconsin.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of one year of experience working with Property & Casualty processes and concepts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact well with customers and team members.
  • Excellent computer skills including the ability to document and access information in an electronic system.
  • Valid WI driver’ s license and acceptable driving history.

 

SKILLS:

Insurance CSR must have the ability to handle difficult customer phone calls. Customers may call with complaints about insurance coverage and policy. The insurance representative must have verbal communication skills to provide information to customers. Written communication skills are necessary to document service calls. Insurance representatives must have good typing skills and basic computer skills.
