Inside Sales Engineer

This is a salaried, full-time job position. Prior AutoCAD or Solidworks experience is a plus as is knowledge of metal processes used in manufacturing; i.e., metal fabrication, welding, etc.

What will you be doing?
  • Act as primary contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Responsible for providing value in every aspect of the customer experience
  • Contact customers and derive order requirements using the “ STAMPED” method
  • Provide pricing and product information to customers
  • Design and quote fabric expansion joints, metal expansion joints, and metal hose assemblies with the support of in-house engineers
  • Place, monitor, and ensure timely shipment of customer orders
  • Resolve related quote, order, and invoice issues
  • Conduct general order entry from order entry software
  • Manage, develop, and grow assigned accounts through regular contact
  • Manage, develop, and nurture strategic customer relationships
  • Partner with outside sales resources and management to support territory objectives
  • Complete targeted sales campaigns assigned by management
  • Report customer and market developments to field sales partners and management
  • Keep abreast of product, service, and industry developments
  • Organize and maintain customer and company information
  • Attend all inside sales meetings to stay up-to-date on all products and services
  • Complete other duties as assigned

What do you need for this position?
  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in mechanical engineering or technology discipline; or demonstrated equivalent through work experience; an engineering degree is not required but preferred
  • 3+ years of experience offering strong technical ability and mechanical aptitude, manufacturing experience preferred (welding, metal fabrication, machining)
  • 3+ years of sales-related experience; previous inside sales through phone and computer use and high-volume manufacturing is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills are a must
  • Strong negotiating skills, selling and influencing skills, and a decisive nature are all a must
  • Strong written skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take charge when necessary and initiate actions on behalf of customers
  • Demonstrated excellence in servicing customers and developing strategic relationships via the phone
  • Knowledge of Fabric Expansion Joints, Metal Expansion Joints and Metal Hose is highly preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to learn product information and transfer knowledge to customers
  • CAD skills using AutoCAD or Solidworks is a plus; otherwise, the ability to read CAD drawings is highly preferred
  • Strong computer skills; e.g. Microsoft Office, Order Entry System, etc.
  • Project management skills are a plus
