Human Resource Manager

Seeking a skilled Human Resources Manager  for a multi-plant, 175-person production operation in Brighton, MI.  The overall purpose of this role will be support talent management, engagement of our associates, and by providing the best possible HR support to meet the business needs of the organization.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Provide strong consultation, facilitation and resolution strategies for workplace issues at Company’ s Michigan locations.
  • Manage and mediate employee relations and corrective actions; provide constructive and developmental feedback and coaching, and explanation and clarification of Company HR policies and procedures.
  • Work with managers to create, implement, and improve staff and department services.
  • Advise Managers in resolution options of employee relations issues and other matters.
  • Promote collaboration and positive communication across different levels of the organization.
  • Assist in the diagnoses of organizational issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans.
  • Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of metric goals, objectives, and systems; develop and report on business metrics to review performance.
  • Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend /implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Assist in performance management training, coaching and development for associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage the Company’ s performance evaluations by ensuring timely completion of all required associate evaluations and managing all such records through the Company’ s HRIS system.
  • Support the development of individual training paths for the Company’ s associates and monitor and administer Company training programs to ensure timely execution of training path requirements by Company associates.
  • Perform timely and accurate record keeping of associate training and performance management records through the Company’ s HRIS system.
  • Keep records of benefit plan participation such as insurance and 401k, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Assist with administration of benefit programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurance, 401k/profit sharing plans, paid time off, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Process performance reviews to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
  • Assist in the development, deployment and administration of Company personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor' s degree in Human Resources or related field required; SHRM/PHR Certification preferred. 
  • Five years' progressive HR experience in a manufacturing of warehouse environment preferred. 
  • Background in all phases of HR crucial:  Employee Relations, Staffing, Benefits Administration, Training & Development, Policy writing and development, Records Management.
