What will you be doing?
  • Responsible for managing the strategies to develop and commission a new fully functioning plastic injection molding facility
  • Work with company principals to determine scope, budget, and timeline for commissioning of a new fully independent injection molding facility
  • Communicate with equipment and supplies vendors to size and source all necessary equipment and materials needed to commission facility
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to install and commission necessary equipment
  • Develop supply chain for consumable materials
  • After commissioning the role will transition to Facility Manager and will be responsible for directing a small team of molding associates in the areas of production, scheduling, safety, maintenance and quality
  • Develop workforce for operation of injection molding facility including analyzing staffing needs, develop job descriptions, consult in hiring process, and day to day management of workforce
  • Lead a small team of people in execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, maintenance and in continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, consultants, or Company employees to develop tooling and manage equipment availability, repair and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output
  • Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintains safe work environment within molding department
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Implement and manage all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment

What do you need for this position?
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering is preferred, but experience alone will be considered
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience with plastics and “ hands-on” injection molding
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience
  • Analytical and strategic
  • Commissioning and facilities design experience
  • Procurement of equipment and machines
  • Project Management
  • Process engineering; define processes for assembly, tooling, etc.
  • Machining and tooling knowledge and experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO 9001: 2008 certified company
  • Must be proficient in MS Office including Excel
