Environmental Health and Safety

This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of environmental health & safety (EHS) programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and organization’s policies, standards, and procedures.  Will promote safety and environmental awareness while incorporating EHS initiatives throughout.


  • Works hands-on with production operators, supervisors, engineers, and managers to identify and eliminate safety hazards.  Will strive to continual enhance the EHS Management system.
  • Lead EHS planning at the facility, coordinating with department safety technicians in setting of goals, prioritizing facility needs and establishing adequate systems for performance review and improvement.
  • Completes all health and environmental testing responsibilities for the facility.
  • Work to develop, routine progress reports, relative to EHS health of the facility and areas of continual improvement.
  • Coordinates resources to ensure EHS aspects and requirements, including legal requirements as contained in codes, laws, permits, licenses, orders, etc., affecting the facility are fully understood and properly managed.
  • Understands mechanical processes and can do some basic design and troubleshooting; in relation to reducing safety hazards and environmental impact.
  • Take the lead and promote and disseminate information relating to maintaining a high performance EHS culture.
  • Will manage the incident review and investigation process, ensure compliance, and keep executive management abreast in a timely manager.
  • Root cause identification and mitigation.
  • Responsible for all training relating to EHS for facility employees, new employee orientation, and third party ( ie. temporary labor and contractors ).
  • Uses the Adaptive Coaching process for communication, goal alignment, problem solving and career planning.


  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience with a manufacturing environment. 
  • Certified Safety Professional ( CSP ), Certified Industrial Hygienist ( CIH ) preferred, but not required. 
  • Solid background in developing and promoting EHS policies, including training and use of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Position requires excellent communication skills, including solid organization and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be able to effectively complete and manage projects relating to EHS, within budget and on-time delivery.
