Engineering Lead

As an Engineering Lead you will provide program management over multiple engineering functions and programs, and manage personnel within the programs.  You will assist the Chief Engineer, to whom this position reports. This is a permanent hire position with a small but growing company headquartered out of Dallas, Texas.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide technical management assistance and direction in the support of programs
  • Provide supervision and responsibility for all projects assigned by the Chief Engineer
  • Have the motivation and take the action needed to move programs assigned from concept to completion
  • Move conceptual design into production unit status
  • Provides leadership and direction for all program personnel assigned to programs of responsibility
  • Manage administrative functions that include assisting the Chief Engineer in scheduling and budgeting, reporting to management, controlling project costs, and supervision of program personnel assigned
  • Assist in identifying and hiring personnel as required to meet near and long term program needs
  • Identify and maintain critical skill disciplines of personnel assigned under programs of responsibility

What do you need to be successful?

  • At minimum, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering through an ABET accredited college or university
  • +7 years of program management responsibility of multi-disciplined engineering teams
  • Project Management certification is a plus
  • Experience in aerospace/aviation/aeronautics, defense/military, and/or maritime environments/industries
  • Must have work-related experience in power conversion; power supplies, hardware interfaces, drive controls
  • Proven organizational skills, including scheduling, planning, and coordinating program details
  • Strategic planning skills that insure assigned programs stay on task and on time
  • Interpersonal skills, including motivation and training of assigned program team members
  • A proven work history that reflects stability, dedication, loyalty and professional growth
