Our customer, a Precision Machining Manufacturer is adding a Director of Operations to their Management Team supporting growth and their 5 year strategic plan. Located 45 minutes east of Chicago, IL and 45 Minutes East of Elkhart, IN, you shall enjoy the Southern rim of a Lake Michigan community with great sights and activities.

What’ s in it for you?
  • Implementation of best practices within Materials, Procurement, Logistics supporting internal supply channels and external customer orders.

What you will be doing?
  • Provide strategic and tactical development, implementation,  management and support of the organizations operations FOCUSED on Materials Management, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse/Distribution of Product.
  • Work closely with Engineering & Manufacturing to ensure product supply of raw materials & WIP inventories exceed manufacturing standard of excellence with Zero defects.
  • Directly participate and influence of safety programs to ensure everyone works in an incident free environment. 
  • Assist with the operational strategy and logistics of a new plant build plan that ensures a NO LOSS production schedule.
  • Mentor and elevate direct report structure to operate a Peak performance Measures.
  • Communicate and Manage operational KPI' s pertaining to strategic goals and deliverables.
  • Interpret, manage, influence Operational component of the P&L that supports the Sales Plan.  

What you need for this position?
  • BS with demonstrated Operational Management experience heavily focused on Materials Management.
  • APICS certification; ERP working knowledge. SAP MM/PP module knowledge.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and manage a P&L report.
  • Perform Capitol Budgeting that supports the overall Strategic Budget developed by the company President.
  • Management by Objectives.
  • Hands on employee mentoring and development.
  • Facility & Equipment maintenance.
  • Focus on Safety.
  • Lean Manufacturing methodology.

What We’ d Like to See ~ But Not a Showstopper:
  • Black Belt trained in Lean Manufacturing.
