Continuous Improvement Manager

The Continuous Improvement Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations and act as a key driver of business process improvement and waste elimination, driving to improve quality, manufacturing and sustain change.   


With support of upper management the Continuous Improvement Manager will map out current processes using one or more process mapping tools. Quantify current process performance through measuring and/or developing KPIs, and then using the information to target improvement initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Manager will support a culture that balances the respect for the team with the implementation of new tools and processes.  Will develop programs to lead high impact improvement projects ( Kaizen, Value Stream Map, DMAIC, FMEA ) in alignment with strategic goals. 

Specific Responsibilities:
  • The Continuous Improvement Manager facilitates Kaizen events, pre-planning and execution.  Summarize close-out actions to ensure timely completion.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage works with the Director of Operations to develop a lean culture that fosters employee development and training in support of continuous improvement and results. 
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage develops operational excellence program and metrics in support of the operations vision.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage collects, reviews and analyzes data to provide recommendations to the leadership team.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage shares best practices throughout the organization from internal and external sources, aligning with project goals.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage utilizes tools and techniques ( Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping ) to extract, quantity, interpret, analyze, and summarize work.  Produce standardize work documentation, visual work instruction, templates and training material.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage coaches Managers and first line supervisors training through one-on-one interaction and materials for sustained implementation of best practices.
  • The Continuous Improvement Manage serves as a focal point for LEAN initiatives. 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, and at least 2 years facilitating, coaching and implementing TPM, LEAN, Kaizen/Six Sigma events and drive lean transformation. 
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and consultancy skills and a driver who can partner with functional leadership and employees to identify, plan and implement business process and continuous improvement systems across the business.
  • Other attributes include:
    • High degree of leadership skills/change management to guidance/influence groups, as well as advance project management, meeting facilitation, written/oral communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to interact with all levels, influence senior managers and be equally comfortable with senior management in cross-functional efforts. 
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes such as long-term planning, capacity, efficiency and industry practices.
  • Bilingual in Spanish helpful, but not required.
