Ceramic Engineer job opening with an innovative, analytical instrumentation company located in St. Joseph, Michigan. This is full time, permanent job position. In this role you will lead development and implementation of ceramic materials with ongoing improvements to processes used.

What will you be doing?

  • Apply material science, ceramic processing, and property experience to solve ceramic material, slurry mixing, slurry stability, vacuum forming, and resulting ceramic performance issues by identifying root causes and implementing innovative solutions
  • Work independently and as part of cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with research, development, and manufacturing personnel to implement material and process improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS in Ceramic Engineer, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 2 years minimum work or research experience related to ceramic formulation development, process engineering, dispersion/mixing, vacuum forming, or ceramic product development
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. Person Status. ITAR defines U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or Colloidal Science
  • Strong analytical and data processing skills
  • 3+ years related experience as a post-doc and/or in industry
  • Experience with ceramic processing and proven understanding of colloidal dispersions, ceramic raw materials/fabrication/injection/processing and/or vacuum forming
  • Experience in project development
