Are you a CNC Programming Engineer for Swiss multi-axis mills & turning machines looking for a new opportunity in the Kenosha, Wisconsin area?

As a CNC Programming Engineer, you will provide programming, fixturing, tooling, and process optimization support for all CNC machinery and manual equipment along with support for machine operators and operations management.

The CNC Programming Engineer will utilize CAM software to develop multi-functional, multi-axis code to program machinery while ensuring that programs are debugged and functional. You will document and establish standards for new products, adjust and correct existing programs to incorporate engineering changes, delivery improvements, and/or cost reductions.

As a CNC Programming Engineer, you will:

  • Translate and convert print dimensional specification to CNC code utilizing CAM software.
  • Identify tooling requirements, indexing sequences, speeds and feed
  • Prove out new or modified CNC programs and first article support.
  • Develop and support all new and existing fixturing and tooling.
  • Identify cost reduction strategies to reduce scrap and waste.
  • Prepare tooling and layout sheets for operators to setup jobs.
  • Develops standards and optimizes machine processes to eliminate waste
  • Assist in new product quotes, machine validations, and creation of control plans.
  • Participates in MRB reviews to determine root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action, modifying tooling, fixturing, programs or documentation as needed.

What do you need for this role?

  • 2-year technical degree in programming, engineering, or manufacturing
  • 2+ years’ experience as a CNC programmer or Engineer in a machine shop environment.
    • ISO 13485 medical device or CNC machine shop that utilizes Cellular Manufacturing preferred
    • Multi-axis milling, turning, Swiss turning, and EDM
  • Ability to write in G and M code
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM for designing and manufacturing
  • Experience with blueprints and GD&T
  • Hands-on experience in waste reduction utilizing lean / Six Sigma
