CAPEX Project Manager
- New Plant Startup

This role is expected to manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity requiring advanced PM skills with consistent use of independent judgement and discretion. The Project Manager must be highly technical and knowledgeable about manufacturing to ensure all aspects of service and capital project execution are delivered consistently and efficiently; always meeting project timeline, budget, quality, safety standards, and all other internal expectations. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for schedule management, budget control, vendor/contractor management, determining return on investment (ROI) justification, team morale, change control, and validation.
  • Develop project plans and schedules that represent the appropriate level of detail and task inter-dependency.
  • Develop and document high-level strategies for achieving specific objectives or activities (hierarchical strategy, process flow, final project summary, etc.).
  • Mange change and/or conflict within any project in an effective, timely, and appropriate manner.
  • Professionally communicate verbally with a broad spectrum of audiences, ranging from outside contractors to internal senior level executives.
  • Green Field or Brown Field Installations.  Experience transferring production lines and brownfield start-ups in Mexico a plus.
  • Project responsibilities include defining scope, objectives, identifying resources, building timeline, and creating project documentation to meet established project goals.
  • Responsible for project risk management (scope, schedule, costs, quality).  Takes necessary steps to communicate, mitigate and develop contingency plans for identified risks.
  • Integration of Multiple 3rd Party Vendors.  3rd Party Vendors or Subcontractors may have scope critical for the overall delivery of the objectives.
  • Closely monitors and tracks project activities to ensure project is adhering to agreed timelines.  Monitors performance and makes recommendations.
  • Prepares project status reports and regularly communicates and presents project status updates to management. 
  • Facilitate and lead effective meetings.
  • Continuous evaluation and assessment of project status and required next steps.
  • Ability to use Project Management Tools and Principles to ensure completion of projects according to established goals.  Computer application skills in MS project and timeline preparation and maintenance and MS Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong business acumen, ability to discern facts from opinion.  Capable of assessing complex situations and developing appropriate action plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering and 10 years of overall Project Management experience, project planning, budgeting and control.  Spanish speaking or conversationalist in Spanish highly preferred. 
  • Should have delivered at least 2 full cycle successful projects in the Manufacturing field with experience with new plant start-up experience.
  • Up to 50% travel both domestic and internationally.
