The Assistant Property Manager will assist with and perform day-to-day property management administrative duties for an experienced and well financed commercial real estate group. This may include managing property viewings, executing leases, and managing property maintenance. Can work closely with maintenance staff and technicians to schedule repairs and organize routine maintenance checks. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management and/or back office accounting software and interest in career growth in commercial property management.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet prospective tenants when they arrive and introduce them to the types of units available as well as the property’s amenities
  • Execute leases with new and returning tenants to ensure all parties understand the terms and conditions of the contract
  • Respond to tenant questions and complaints in a timely manner
  • Contact tenants to collect overdue rent or to discuss other issues that require immediate attention
  • Manage the maintenance and custodial staff at the property
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance calls to apartment units
  • Schedule, plan and execute resident functions on the property, such as weddings and parties
  • Establish rapport with tenants so they always feel valued and appreciated

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound Decision Making Skills
  • Solid Financial Accounting Capabilities
  • Extremely hands-on and results driven
  • Team player with ability to multi-task and work independently under tight deadlines
  • Long term career interest in Commercial Real Estate

Preferred:

  • Real estate marketing experience preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in property management and / or commercial real estate preferred
  • Prior experience with property management back office software systems like Rent Manager, YARDI or equivalent;
  • College degree preferred
