Accounting Assistant – Schaumburg, IL
Contract-to-hire

The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting department with their day-to-day functions by performing entry-level accounting duties. The primary work focus for the Accounting Assistant will be supporting the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.  Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with Bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Updating ledgers, budgets and issuing checks
  • Communication with vendors and clients via phone, email or in-person
  • Filing, data entry, answering phones and processing the mail

Background Profile:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or similar field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong computer skills, including accounting and/bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, Sage is a plus)
  • Familiar with accounting principles
  • Excellent math and accounting skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
