AOI Inspector Programmer Technician

An Electronics Company in Everett, Washington, is hiring an AOI Inspector & Programmer Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Experience with SMT AOI programming and inspection, both 2D and 3D.  Experience with Koh Young or Yestech, specifically is preferred.

What will you be doing?

  • Successfully achieves all AOI programming operations of PCBAs
  • Effectively utilizes ERP, CDP, SCD and other tools to clearly plan, create and revise AOI programs
  • Communicates effectively and coordinates with department managers, supervisors, leads and operators on programming scheduling & planning information
  • Helps drive continuous Quality Improvement actions in order to achieve ‘zero escape’ goals on AOI

QC Inspector duties:

  • Ensure paperwork is accurate and current version (i.e., travelers, prints, Bill of Material, etc.)
  • Visually examine assembly using appropriate inspection aids for conformance to specifications (i.e., IPC-610, J-STD-001 or customer specifications)
  • Successfully complete IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Training
  • Document results of inspection on log sheets
  • Observe product as it is being assembled and verify key process points consistent with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Perform prototype and NPI inspections
  • Assist the Document Control/Quality System Department as needed in the processing of documents that support the needs of manufacturing (i.e., Manufacturing Aids, Bill of Materials, ECO's, etc.)

AOI Programmer duties:

  • Create AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programs for new assemblies and maintain older programs
  • Ensure program performance and accuracy using different test methods (bare boards, comparison, escape rates, false calls, etc.)
  • Ensure paperwork is accurate and current version (i.e., travelers, prints, Bill of Material, etc.)
  • Use company’s and customer’s documentation to ensure program meets customer expectation and requirement (i.e., IPC-610, J-STD-001 or customer specifications)
  • Report any issues to Quality and/or Engineering
  • Help production in the improvement process, quality and efficiency of the AOI programs

What skills/experience do you need?

  • Technical training or certificate preferred
  • IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Training, preferred
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities listed above
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow work and safety procedures
